Blue Ventures
Blue Ventures is an award-winning marine conservation organisation dedicated to conservation, education and sustainable development in tropical coastal communities. Blue Ventures’ team of dedicated researchers and volunteers study all aspects of the marine ecosystem – from fish species and coral all the way through to local fishing techniques and ways of life. The results from their work help them to develop the local populations they work with in a sustainable way and propose new ideas to benefit coastal communities everywhere.

Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA)
WIOMSA is a regional professional, non-governmental, non-profit, membership organisation, registered in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The organization is dedicated to promoting the educational, scientific and technological development of all aspects of marine sciences throughout the region of the Western Indian Ocean, with a view toward sustaining the use and conservation of its marine resources. The Association has 1,000 individual members as well as 50 institutional members from within and outside the region.

Velondriake
The Velondriake locally-managed marine network seeks to protect biodiversity and livelihoods, and increase environmental awareness among communities. Velondriake serves as a model to other communities for conservation, economic development, and governance and management initiatives. The Velondriake network is located on the southwest coast of Madagascar. Named ‘Velondriake’, for the Malagasy “to live with the sea”, the network benefits more than 10,000 people and protects coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, baobab forests and other threatened habitats.
